Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Filetro processes when you use the Local Editor, create an account, sign in with Google, or subscribe to a paid plan.
Last updated: 30 August 2026Your artwork is local-first
Filetro's standard editor is designed to process your images and designs in your browser. Filetro does not upload or store your artwork on its servers as part of normal editing, local project saving, recent-design history or recovery.
Browser-local features may use storage provided by your browser or device. Clearing site data, using private browsing, changing browsers or devices, or browser storage limits can remove that local data.
Information we may process
Account information
If you create a Filetro account, we may store information such as your email address, display name, account status, plan, sign-in method and security/session records. Passwords are stored using one-way password hashing rather than as readable passwords.
Google sign-in
If you choose Continue with Google, Google provides Filetro with basic identity information needed to sign you in, such as your verified email address, profile name and a Google account identifier. Filetro does not receive your Google password.
Subscription and billing records
Payments are handled by Stripe. Filetro may store Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, your selected plan, subscription status and billing period information so that paid access can be managed. Filetro does not need to store your full card number.
Technical and security information
We may process ordinary server logs and security information such as request times, IP addresses, browser/device information, login attempts and error information where needed to operate, protect and troubleshoot the service.
Cookies and browser storage
Filetro uses essential cookies or similar storage for functions such as account sessions and security. The editor also uses browser-local storage for preferences and local editor features such as recovery or recent projects.
Filetro may display advertising supplied by third parties such as Google. Depending on your region, browser settings, consent choices and the advertising provider, those providers may use cookies or similar technologies for measurement or advertising.
Why we use information
- To create and secure Filetro accounts and sessions.
- To provide Google sign-in when you request it.
- To provide Free and Pro plan access and manage subscriptions.
- To prevent abuse, investigate errors and keep Filetro secure.
- To comply with legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations where applicable.
Third-party services
Filetro currently relies on third-party services for certain functions, including Google for optional sign-in, Stripe for payments and subscription management, and advertising providers where ads are shown. Those services process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Links to services such as Reddit take you to an external website. Filetro does not control how external websites process your information.
Retention and your choices
Account and subscription information may be kept for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward where needed for security, dispute handling, accounting or legal obligations. Local artwork stored in your browser remains under your browser/device control.
You can contact Filetro to ask about your account information or request an appropriate correction or deletion, subject to records we may need to retain by law.
Security and changes
Filetro uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as Filetro changes. Material updates will be reflected by changing the date shown above.
